Aaron Evans

Company:
One Shore

I do software testing, tools, automation, web development, and a bit of system administration.

I finally quit my job in 2005 and moved to Fiji to start a tourism business. But I fell in love literally the day before leaving and promised to come back. So after 3 months going native, and eventually ending up sailing to Australia, I did. I got another job, started shopping for my own sailboat, and got married.

But instead of buying a boat, we moved to Ecuador, where my wife did volunteer work at an orphanage and I dreamed up the idea of a "QA site" -- a package of software testing and automation tools, with a friendly web interface and no-hassle system administration. Hosted or on-site or rolled up in a VMWare image. A service + consulting deal.

We came back when Kelsey got pregnant and I got a job again. We had a boy, Harmon, and now I'm trying to put together the QA site cocept and make it a reality.

My company is called One Shore [http://one-shore.com], from when I had aspirations of working from Fiji (or at sea). I also blog at http://fijiaaron.wordpress.com.
